Here at ‘Tis Cleveland, we consider ourselves lucky to cover such an amazing, inspirational, educational and creative event such as Fashion Week Cleveland. It brings not only fun parties and visionary fashion shows to CLE, but it also boasts exhibits, seminars, workshops, lectures and films which are all open to the public.
Therefore, we are proud and very happy to get the word out about Fashion Week Cleveland 2010!
Starting Saturday, June 5, a seminar will set off the week about “The Influence of the Military on Fashion” at the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Chisholm Halle Costume Wing. The free lectures following will begin at noon and include a welcome by the founder of Fashion Week Cleveland himself, Donald Shingler.
‘TIS TIP: Admission to the historical society on June 5 is free to all attendants of Fashion Week!
Don’t forget to stop by the Glam Party afterwards on Saturday for Fashion Week Cleveland’s official launch event at Dragonfly Lounge. It starts at 9-pm and goes to close! Did we mention that there is no cover charge, complimentary sushi, DJs Impure & GO and dancing? Also, a special appearance by Miss Ohio U.S. International Lindsay Davis and a chance raffle to win tickets to the Cleveland Fashion Show – black tie gala featuring American fashion designers!

‘TIS TIP: This area has mostly metered street parking that is free after 6pm, although it may be difficult to find a spot. Try looking on the side streets off of W25th for better luck and just a short walk.
Fashion Week Cleveland will then conclude on the following Saturday, June 12, with the Cleveland Fashion Black Tie Gala at La Place shopping center in Beachwood. Tickets range from $50-100 and include an American designer fashion show and a collegiate fashion show. The shows start at 9pm and end at midnight.
The Gala includes 8 events in one evening:
- VIP Reception: Enjoy the spectacular shops of La Place as you mingle with other fashion-forward guests. Your evening of art and design begins with the VIP cocktail party. Reserve runway seating with VIP admission.
- Tara Hawley
Vocal and piano performance by Tara Hawley at the VIP reception. - Cocktail Party: Enjoy the complimentary Melange appetizers, wine, and stylish guests.
- KB and Carmen: Tango dance performance by KB and Carmen
- Pop-up Boutique Mall: The fashion, art, and design pop-up boutique mall with boutiques, artisans and designers! See a boutique mall suddenly appear, then disappear, as this one-day-only “pop-up” shopping district is created.
- O Gallery: Scultures, paintings, and fashion will be on display and available to purchase in O Gallery. Art is an event, something which should be experienced. At The O they believe art connects people, helps to build communities, and creates lines of communication. View their fine exhibits during the reception before the show.
- Collegiate Fashion Show: Top colleges of fashion design and merchandising send America’s most talented student designers to showcase their collections in Act I of The Cleveland Fashion Show. Reserved runway seating with VIP admission.
- American Designer Fashion Show: American designers showcase their work in Act II of The Cleveland Fashion Show. Reserved Runway Seating with VIP admission.
